TUESDAY, 05.21.02 i'm in dallas right now visiting my friend warren... we haven't seen each other in years and years... it's weird... it feels like we've never been apart but at the same time it feels like it's been forever... i guess that would be a good definition of "true friend" (or "sistah," maybe)... i'll be here through the week and then it's back to san antonio for memorial day weekend (the final leg of my tour of the southern united states)... life down here is sooooo much simpler than in new york... here's an example... the top stories for tonight's news: a store in dallas sells expired hamburger meat! and do those skin firming creams that you've heard so much about really work? tonight at 10:00...

well, we went out tonight to check out the tuesday night gay scene here... *yawn* i did sing karaoke, though... GARTH BROOKS (i felt it was appropriate)... country music is crazy...

SATURDAY, 05.18.02 freakin' geocities, man... it seems that the server will be down for "updates" until sunday... sorry... so, anyway, i had this insane chat last night on aol... LATE last night... i do not know the person i was chatting with... he, too, is visiting san antonio from new york... his name has been slightly changed... probably won't be talking to this one again...

SBTX2002 [4:58 AM]: so where should i go in SA for sex
FourTwoNine [4:58 AM]: for sex??? lol
FourTwoNine [4:59 AM]: good luck
FourTwoNine [4:59 AM]: i mean
FourTwoNine [4:59 AM]: i guess you could go to one of the three gay clubs here...
FourTwoNine [4:59 AM]: but i can't guarantee that you'd get laid
FourTwoNine [4:59 AM]: people here kinda suck
SBTX2002 [5:01 AM]: why
SBTX2002 [5:01 AM]: they couldn't have more attitude than in NY
FourTwoNine [5:01 AM]: well, hmmmm, i don't know what that means, but...
FourTwoNine [5:02 AM]: i guess i just mean that this is a boring place
FourTwoNine [5:02 AM]: have you ever been here before???
SBTX2002 [5:02 AM]: only once for one day
FourTwoNine [5:03 AM]: it's really slow
FourTwoNine [5:03 AM]: i mean, the three places to check out would be HEAT, THE SAINT (which i call "the AIN'T"), and BONHAM
SBTX2002 [5:04 AM]: what about sex clubs
FourTwoNine [5:04 AM]: none
FourTwoNine [5:04 AM]: there is a bath house
FourTwoNine [5:04 AM]: but i hear that it is only old skeasy guys
SBTX2002 [5:06 AM]: nice
FourTwoNine [5:06 AM]: yeah
FourTwoNine [5:07 AM]: i've never even been because i've been told that it's really bad
SBTX2002 [5:07 AM]: maybe i'll just go to mexico then
SBTX2002 [5:08 AM]: i hear the mexican food is awful in texas
FourTwoNine [5:08 AM]: um, no...
FourTwoNine [5:08 AM]: it's fantastic
SBTX2002 [5:08 AM]: that its greasy and nasty and there is no authentic mexican to be found like they have in chicago
FourTwoNine [5:08 AM]: like they have in chicago???
SBTX2002 [5:08 AM]: that TX only has nasty greasy tex mex with lots of yellow cheese which doesnt even exist in mexico
FourTwoNine [5:08 AM]: that's crazy
FourTwoNine [5:09 AM]: cheddar cheese doesn't exist in mexico??? they need to catch up to the rest of the world!!!
SBTX2002 [5:09 AM]: if you find yellow cheese on your plate you know the food is definitely not mexican in any way
SBTX2002 [5:09 AM]: and i hear texas is all about yellow cheese
FourTwoNine [5:09 AM]: so, say someone puts cheese on your taco... is it no longer a taco???
FourTwoNine [5:09 AM]: *scratches head*
SBTX2002 [5:12 AM]: i've been to mexico hundreds of times
SBTX2002 [5:12 AM]: still haven't spotted any yellow cheese in mexico though
SBTX2002 [5:13 AM]: not that is used in traditional mexican dishes anyway
FourTwoNine [5:14 AM]: well, the food you get here is usually considered tex-mex, but i don't see how adding tex to mex cancels out mex... that is like saying 3 + 7 = 3
FourTwoNine [5:15 AM]: like bean and cheese tacos
SBTX2002 [5:15 AM]: bean and cheese tacos???????? no such thing!!!!!!!!!!! all tacos in mexico have a meat
FourTwoNine [5:17 AM]: *shrug*
FourTwoNine [5:18 AM]: anyhow, i love the food here
FourTwoNine [5:18 AM]: it's one of the few things i miss about san antonio
SBTX2002 [5:19 AM]: i'm not a fan of tex mex because it doesnt have any of the fresh ingredients that mexican cooking has, the sauces are drab compared to mexico, and the amount of grease is overwhelming
FourTwoNine [5:19 AM]: there is actually a lot of fresh and healthy tex-mex here
FourTwoNine [5:19 AM]: it's a craze
SBTX2002 [5:20 AM]: must be something new
SBTX2002 [5:20 AM]: how is it fresh and healthy
FourTwoNine [5:21 AM]: all very fresh ingredients and low fat contents (less grease)
SBTX2002 [5:22 AM]: LOL so you mean "fresh" beans and "fresh" yellow cheese ?? LOL
FourTwoNine [5:22 AM]: fresh beans, yes... and cheese actually has to be fresh or you'll get sick...
FourTwoNine [5:23 AM]: so yes...
SBTX2002 [5:24 AM]: texmex fast food is definitely a craze here in NY too -- and its all owned and cooked by chinese people
FourTwoNine [5:24 AM]: this is not that
FourTwoNine [5:24 AM]: i'm not talking fast food
FourTwoNine [5:25 AM]: tex-mex fast food is usually pretty bad
FourTwoNine [5:25 AM]: i'm talking about tex-mex restaurants with $20 entrees
SBTX2002 [5:25 AM]: i never saw any "burritos" in mexico either, except right along the border towns
SBTX2002 [5:25 AM]: i think that was invented in texas
FourTwoNine [5:26 AM]: i don't know about the origin of the burrito
SBTX2002 [5:27 AM]: i think its mexican like chop suey is chinese
FourTwoNine [5:27 AM]: *shrug*
SBTX2002 [5:27 AM]: i heard there were a lot of guys into group sex in san antonio
FourTwoNine [5:28 AM]: hmmmmm...
FourTwoNine [5:28 AM]: *shrug*

THURSDAY, 05.16.02 i'm back in texas now... have been back a couple of days, actually, but it's already been crazy... i'm helping my friend eric paint his new house... it's fun, but a big big job... we're just about finished with a bathroom now after painting for two days... texas is going to be good for me because i'll get to ease my way back into a city life as opposed to heading right back to new york from the woods of tennessee... the last few weeks have been amazing... i met so many new people from all over the country and have formed several new friendships, not to mention now having places to stay in almost every major u.s. city... hehehe... here are pictures from my time in tennessee... i think they give a pretty good idea of what a faerie gathering is like, except of course that you could never quite know how incredible it really is without being there yourself...
