THURSDAY, 01.17.02

TUESDAY, 01.08.02 so yesterday we got our first snow of the season... by last night there was a pretty and not yet annoying tiny layer of snow covering the ground, fences, cars, trash bags... went into the east village to meet up with pie and jonathan (visiting from utah) where the snow that was falling sparkled like glitter... it was quite beautiful... woke up this morning to find it was allllllll gone... the sun was out and the snow had melted into a salty river running down first avenue... winter is never actually going to make it here this year, is it???
it was great to be out last night, though... had been sick in bed for about three days downloading a bunch of new (fantastic) music and i finally just had to get out... went to this crazy modern dance thing with jonathan, which has never been my thing, but i enjoyed it... then took him to the bar for a few games of pool and a few pints of bass... then rented hair and called it a night... now i'm back at home in my all too familiar bed and can't stomach the idea of spending the rest of the day and night here... must go out again... must have fun...
SATURDAY, 01.05.02 last night at work, a plain-looking man comes into f&b and orders a coffee... i ask him if the coffee is dine in or take out (i know, i still can't believe i'm doing this, either)... he explains that the coffee is to go and that he is on his way to a family function and that coffee is necessary... i agreed and said that i could use some coffee at them moment... then he starts asking my name, if i'm in school, why i'm working at a hot-dog shop, where i live, if i'm working this weekend, and other questions about my life... then just outright hitting on me... i've always had a problem knowing how to let people know that i'm not interested in them without just saying, "i'm not interested." especially at work!!! well, today the man comes back into the shop and i quickly walk toward the back of the kitchen in order to avoid another "conversation"... then, behind me, i hear:
the man: "this is for that boy."
i turn around to see the man wave at me and sort of run out of the building... my manager hands me a large manilla envelope... i look at it rather suspiciously when a coworker says, "don't open it... i don't want anthrax." well, i have to open it... inside, a tiny little piece of paper with a note on it:
Hello again -
i just think the whole thing is, while kinda cute, really really funny... but... come on... i can't call this guy!!! and what if he comes back in??? how do i handle a situation like that??? sheesh...
WEDNESDAY, 01.02.02 if you don't think that this is hillarious, well, i'm afraid that you and i cannot be friends...
TUESDAY, 01.01.02 happy new year... last night was great... the only way to put yourself in the place i was last night is to visit this site:
